Children’s privacy notice

Densha children's privacy notice Contact: support@densha.app. Telephone: (323) 391-4931. Why we are contacting you A student provided your email address to ask for your permission to use Densha. We use that address to send this notice and obtain parental permission. New children under 13 do not create a student account until a parent or legal guardian gives permission and we send a separate confirmation email. Existing students under 13 must complete this permission process before continuing to use learning features. Information collected and how it is used The age check retains an age category and assessment time, rather than the birth date entered. We use a cookie to remember the age check. For parental permission, we store your email, parent account name, password hash, relationship to the student, and a record of the notice and permission you gave. After permission, a child account includes the child's first and last name, email address, password hash, and parent connection. Densha records practice answers, quizzes, scores, word mastery, study assignments, learning activity times, and any submitted sentences and tutor feedback. These records provide account access, study plans, feedback, progress reporting, and evaluation of learning features. Account and session cookies support sign-in; limited technical records support security and operation of the service. Access and service providers The linked parent and authorized Densha staff can access the student's learning information, including writing submissions. Hosting, database, and email services process information needed to operate the app and deliver account and progress emails. Optional paid subscriptions use Stripe for payment processing, with subscription identifiers and status stored in Densha. Children should not include unrelated personal information in writing submissions. Your choices You can decline permission by taking no action. To give permission, open the link in the request email, create or sign into your parent account, read this notice, and select I consent. We queue a separate confirmation email immediately after you give permission; it includes a link to withdraw permission. No second approval is required. You can then invite your child to finish registration. In your parent account, open Child accounts and permission to view available reports, request a copy of information, request deletion, or withdraw permission for further ordinary collection and use. You can also contact support@densha.app. Withdrawal stops learning access and queued progress reports. Account deletion is handled by our team; subscription cancellation is a separate action. We do not require a child to provide more information than needed for the activities they use. Retention Unanswered permission requests expire after seven days. Setup that is not completed after permission is removed after 30 days. Active permission records are kept while the account uses that permission; withdrawn permission records are retained for 365 days. An open parental request keeps the associated record until the request is fulfilled. Learning information remains associated with the account until deletion is completed. Contact us to request deletion, including handling of service-provider records and retained backups. The current notice is available from the Privacy notice link on Densha.
